Maling Pink Thumbprint Dish with Primula Pattern

$55 USDMaling Pink Thumbprint Dish with Primula Pattern

Pottery:Maling
A Maling dish with pink thumbprint design, edged with a pattern of primulas. About 10.2 inches in overall length, this is an attractive boat-shaped dish. There are a few slight manufacturing flaws – some small round brown marks on the pink pattern inside the dish and three slight black marks on the pink pattern on the underside. Otherwise perfect. A pretty and collectable dish.

Art Deco Oyster Wood Lamp

$275 USDArt Deco Oyster Wood Lamp

Collectibles:Lamps, Lighting:Art Deco:Oyster Wood
An unusual Art Deco lamp base and integral shade made from oyster wood - wood cut across the branch to reveal the rings. This has not been pieced. It must have been cut from the top of a pollarded tree with very even branches, then turned on a lathe. About 14 inches in height. Slight crackling to the varnish on the base, otherwise in excellent condition.
A cute Studio Pottery Gnome

$30 USDA cute Studio Pottery Gnome

Pottery:Studio Pottery
A cute studio pottery gnome, stoneware with a brown glazed cap. He measures about 3.5 inches (8cm) in height and appears to be solid, not hollow. He has a mark which looks like a M over a W in a rounded square frame. In perfect condition. Quite heavy for his size because of his solidity.
A small Poole Pottery Pin Dish

$12 USDA small Poole Pottery Pin Dish

Pottery:Poole
A small Poole Pottery pin dish, classic Poole colouring with the dotted edge. Hand painted centre with flower design. There is an effect in the petals of the blue flower which may or may not be intentional, but it is original. The dish is initialled but I can't read the initials. Visible craquelure. Marked Poole England IE. Diameter is 4 inches (10cm)

Matted Victorian Bird print with original Hand-coloring: Crossbills

$40 USDMatted Victorian Bird print with original Hand-coloring: Crossbills

Collectibles:Paintings, Prints:Birds
I am assuming these are Crossbills because their bills are so clearly crossed. I would also assume that the dull brownish one is the female and the bright red one the male, as is so often the case with birds. The female is, however, portrayed above the male :) Mat measures 9.4 x 12 inches (24 x 30.5 cm).

Porcelain:Antique:Aesthetic:Transfer
A charming Aesthetic brown transferware porcelain trio from the short-lived (1883 - 1916) Pointon & Co, Ltd. of Hanley, Staffordshire. The pattern is mainly of iris, with some birds, and decorative panels in the Japonaiserie style. The cup is small, almost a coffee can in size but not quite. The mark is impressed, only on the saucer, and has proved difficult to photograph, but I have tried. In perfect condition with no chips or cracks.

Art Nouveau Scent Bottle with Silver Overlay

$175 USDArt Nouveau Scent Bottle with Silver Overlay

Silver:Art Nouveau:Scent:Perfume
A delightful small clear glass scent bottle with sterling silver overlay in a swirling Art Nouveau floral design. As it reaches the neck the silver overlay covers the glass completely, and the stopper also is fairly heavily encased. Nice ground pontil to the base of the bottle, with a scratched 41, probably the pattern number. The clear glass lower part of the stopper has a bubble which has reached the surface at one point, so there is a roughness, and the glass inside the neck has some slight ...

An original Victorian steel engraving with later hand-colouring, depicting Hay Church. Drawn by H. Gastineau, engraved by J. Hinchliffe. Mat measures 10 x 8.5 inches (26 x 21.5cm). Now, do I list this as 'England' of 'Wales'? The denizens of Hay on Wye would differ in their reply.

A Victorian silver bonbon dish, 1897 (Free Shipping)

$75 USDA Victorian silver bonbon dish, 1897 (Free Shipping)

Silver:Antique:Sterling:Victorian:Bonbon
A Victorian silver bonbon dish, hallmarked in Birmingham in 1897. It has a prettily pierced rim and measures about 4.7 inches in diameter. The full UK hallmark is shown but it is well hidden in the scrollwork. The maker's mark is CS FS with possibly a badly struck '&' in between. I am informed (thank you, A.C.) that this is Cornelius Saunders & Francis Shepard. A few minute dents on the plain base, and a few tiny dull spots which will gradually disappear with frequent gentle polishing, but ...
A Pair of Victorian Salt Spoons: 1855 (Free Shipping)

$65 USDA Pair of Victorian Salt Spoons: 1855 (Free Shipping)

Silver:Antique:Sterling:Salt
A typically Victorian pair of salt spoons, hallmarked in Glasgow in 1855. They are approximately 4.1 inches long, carry an initial which is probably G, and have some pitting in the bowls, which can be seen in the scan, no doubt caused by the salt for which they were used. Free Air Mail shipping anywhere.
A Handsome Pair of Silver-Handled Fish Servers circa 1880

$125 USDA Handsome Pair of Silver-Handled Fish Servers circa 1880

Silver:Antique:Sterling:Flatware:Cutlery
A handsome pair of silver-handled fish servers, missing their date mark, probably by John Round of Sheffield, circa 1880. They could also be by Joseph Rodgers. They may not look very practical, but are very useful when serving a large fish such as a whole poached salmon. I recommend poaching as a way of cooking the salmon, but not as a method for obtaining it!

$900 USD Offers ConsideredMorgan's Improved Protean Scenery: Napoleon - Powerless and Powerful: metamorphic print

Fine Art:Printmaking:Napoleon:Protean:Metamorphic
A very unusual 'protean' or metamorphic print, entitled Napoleon - Powerless and Powerful. It is No. 9 of Morgan's Improved Protean Scenery, and described on the integral label: This Print at first represents the Exiled Emperor, musing on the sea shore, and upon holding it before the light, you will again behold him powerful - reviewing his soldiers - forming one of the most pleasing illusions that can be imagined. London. Published by W Morgan , 25 Bartlett's Buildings, Holborn Hill. The effect ...

Porcelain:By Maker Or Type:Royal Worcester:Stinton:Pheasants
A delightful matched pair of Royal Worcester posy vases, hand painted with pheasants, one signed James Stinton, one unsigned. The shape is G161. These have probably been together since they were originally purchased and they make a fine pair. The unsigned one carries the puce mark, date coded for 1928. The Stinton example has a green mark, date coded for 1925. Unfortunately the Stinton example has a chip to the base, virtually invisible in display, and which I have photographed in close-up. Both ...

Collectibles:Paintings, Prints:Places:Wales
An original Victorian steel engraving with later hand-colouring, depicting Narberth Castle in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The print is matted but the mat shows slight speckling, probably from dampness, and it would probably benefit from being re-matted. Original drawing was by H. Gastineau. Overall size of mat 10.5 x 9 inches (26.5 x 23cm) The colours are richer and more yellow than they appear in the scan.

A Nippon Dresser (Vanity) Set decorated with Roses. One piece damaged.

$195 USDA Nippon Dresser (Vanity) Set decorated with Roses. One piece damaged.

Porcelain:Nippon:Dresser:Dressing Table:Vanity
A very pretty dresser or dressing table set, comprising of a tray, vase or hatpin holder, ring stand with hand, hair receiver and trinket box. The hair receiver and trinket box stand on three dainty legs, and one leg is damaged. As the bases are identical, the set could be displayed with either the plain lid or the hair receiver, but not both - they are interchangeable. There is some wear to the gilding and I have done my best to illustrate that in the accompanying photographs, but the overall ...
