A delightful small clear glass scent bottle with sterling silver overlay in a swirling Art Nouveau floral design. As it reaches the neck the silver overlay covers the glass completely, and the stopper also is fairly heavily encased. Nice ground pontil to the base of the bottle, with a scratched 41, probably the pattern number. A Victorian silver bonbon dish, hallmarked in Birmingham in 1897. It has a prettily pierced rim and measures about 4.7 inches in diameter. The full UK hallmark is shown but it is well hidden in the scrollwork. The maker's mark is CS FS with possibly a badly struck '&' in between. I am informed (thank you, A.C.) that this is Cornelius Saunders & Francis Shepard. They are approximately 4.1 inches long, carry an initial which is probably G, and have some pitting in the bowls, which can be seen in the scan, no doubt caused by the salt for which they were used. A handsome pair of silver-handled fish servers, missing their date mark, probably by John Round of Sheffield, circa 1880. They could also be by Joseph Rodgers. They may not look very practical, but are very useful when serving a large fish such as a whole poached salmon. I recommend poaching as a way of cooking the salmon, but not as a method for obtaining it!
