Nine-piece Dessert Service by Minton, 1852

$425 USDNine-piece Dessert Service by Minton, 1852

Porcelain:Antique:Minton
A beautiful nine-piece dessert service by Minton, hand-decorated with sprays of flowers, each spray different, with a gilded rope edging. The service comprises of one circular comport, two rectangular comports and six plates. The marks on the pieces identify them as having been made in 1852. Ruby Lane is generous with the space it allows for photographs, but I have lots more, which I can email to you or post in sequence until you have seen them all. Just ask. In perfect condition.
Tea Bowl, Coffee Can and Saucer Set: Early 1800s

$65 USDTea Bowl, Coffee Can and Saucer Set: Early 1800s

Porcelain:Antique
There is no mark on these pieces. Absolutely perfect, slight wear on the gilding, as one would expect on an object dating from the early 1800s. The age can be judged from the depth of the saucer, as later saucers became shallower, with an indentation into which to place the cup. Also, it was the practice to have only one saucer for the tea bowl and the coffee can.
Aesthetic Brown Transferware Porcelain Trio

$75 USDAesthetic Brown Transferware Porcelain Trio

Porcelain:Antique:Aesthetic:Transfer
A charming Aesthetic brown transferware porcelain trio from the short-lived (1883 - 1916) Pointon & Co, Ltd. of Hanley, Staffordshire. The pattern is mainly of iris, with some birds, and decorative panels in the Japonaiserie style. The cup is small, almost a coffee can in size but not quite. The mark is impressed, only on the saucer, and has proved difficult to photograph, but I have tried. In perfect condition with no chips or cracks.
REDUCED English Pink Lustre Tea Bowl and Saucer: Early Nineteenth Century

$100 USD ReducedREDUCED English Pink Lustre Tea Bowl and Saucer: Early Nineteenth Century

Porcelain:Antique:Luster:Pink
A pink lustre tea bowl and saucer, the saucer of the deep type as at this period the tea was poured first into the bowl, then into the saucer to cool it, and drunk from the saucer. The glaze in the centre of the saucer is a little worn, as you would expect, and underneath the rim of the saucer are patches of black speckles under the glaze, a roughness of manufacture indicating the early date of these pieces.
