Porcelain:Collingwood
An attractive decorative bone china dish in a distinctive oval shape and very pretty colouring. In perfect condition, with no chips or cracks, and the gilding intact, it has a small scratch to the turquoise edging, which I have photographed in close-up. A most attractive piece of early Twentieth Century china.

Royal Dux Centrepiece Bowl: Water Nymph and Cherub

$1,950 USDRoyal Dux Centrepiece Bowl: Water Nymph and Cherub

Porcelain:By Maker Or Type:Royal Dux
A superb Royal Dux centrepiece, the bowl with water lilies surmounted by a nymph pouring water into the bowl. A cheeky cherub is holding out his hand to catch the water as it falls. Measurement is difficult with so complex a piece, but it measures approximately 14 inches across the bowl, and 11.5 inches to the top of the nymph's head. I can find no damage apart from a possible flake at the tip of the cherub's left wing, which I have attempted to photograph. It carries the applied pink porcelain ...

Matched Pair of Royal Worcester Posy Vases: Hand Painted Pheasants: One signed James Stinton

$995 USDMatched Pair of Royal Worcester Posy Vases: Hand Painted Pheasants: One signed James Stinton

Porcelain:By Maker Or Type:Royal Worcester:Stinton:Pheasants
A delightful matched pair of Royal Worcester posy vases, hand painted with pheasants, one signed James Stinton, one unsigned. The shape is G161. These have probably been together since they were originally purchased and they make a fine pair. The unsigned one carries the puce mark, date coded for 1928. The Stinton example has a green mark, date coded for 1925. Unfortunately the Stinton example has a chip to the base, virtually invisible in display, and which I have photographed in close-up. Both ...

$425 USDNine-piece Dessert Service by Minton, 1852

Porcelain:Antique:Minton
A beautiful nine-piece dessert service by Minton, hand-decorated with sprays of flowers, each spray different, with a gilded rope edging. The service comprises of one circular comport, two rectangular comports and six plates. The marks on the pieces identify them as having been made in 1852. Ruby Lane is generous with the space it allows for photographs, but I have lots more, which I can email to you or post in sequence until you have seen them all. Just ask. In perfect condition.

Porcelain:Japanese:Kutani
A Japanese Kutani lidded bowl featuring ladies in traditional dress by the waterside. 4.5 inches (11.5cm) in diameter excluding handles. In excellent condition with only a tiny nibble - really just a loss of glaze - on the bowl rim. Signed on the base.
REDUCED English Pink Lustre Tea Bowl and Saucer: Early Nineteenth Century

$100 USD ReducedREDUCED English Pink Lustre Tea Bowl and Saucer: Early Nineteenth Century

Porcelain:Antique:Luster:Pink
A pink lustre tea bowl and saucer, the saucer of the deep type as at this period the tea was poured first into the bowl, then into the saucer to cool it, and drunk from the saucer. The glaze in the centre of the saucer is a little worn, as you would expect, and underneath the rim of the saucer are patches of black speckles under the glaze, a roughness of manufacture indicating the early date of these pieces.
Noritake Handled Vase with Sailing Ships, turquoise ground and gilding

$275 USDNoritake Handled Vase with Sailing Ships, turquoise ground and gilding

Porcelain:Noritake
A very attractive vase with hand-painted sailing ships, one being a rather fanciful two-masted ship with galleon-type sails, but based on something which looks more like a dinghy, with a man seated in the prow. In the background is another boat and a windmill. The boat in the cartouche on the other side is a much simpler representation of a yacht or sailboat. There is plentiful beading and gilding, though the gilding is rubbed and I have tried to show this in the photos. There are no chips, ...

$75 USDAesthetic Brown Transferware Porcelain Trio

Porcelain:Antique:Aesthetic:Transfer
A charming Aesthetic brown transferware porcelain trio from the short-lived (1883 - 1916) Pointon & Co, Ltd. of Hanley, Staffordshire. The pattern is mainly of iris, with some birds, and decorative panels in the Japonaiserie style. The cup is small, almost a coffee can in size but not quite. The mark is impressed, only on the saucer, and has proved difficult to photograph, but I have tried. In perfect condition with no chips or cracks.
A Nippon Dresser (Vanity) Set decorated with Roses. One piece damaged.

$195 USDA Nippon Dresser (Vanity) Set decorated with Roses. One piece damaged.

Porcelain:Nippon:Dresser:Dressing Table:Vanity
A very pretty dresser or dressing table set, comprising of a tray, vase or hatpin holder, ring stand with hand, hair receiver and trinket box. The hair receiver and trinket box stand on three dainty legs, and one leg is damaged. As the bases are identical, the set could be displayed with either the plain lid or the hair receiver, but not both - they are interchangeable. There is some wear to the gilding and I have done my best to illustrate that in the accompanying photographs, but the overall ...

Tea Bowl, Coffee Can and Saucer Set: Early 1800s

$65 USDTea Bowl, Coffee Can and Saucer Set: Early 1800s

Porcelain:Antique
There is no mark on these pieces. Absolutely perfect, slight wear on the gilding, as one would expect on an object dating from the early 1800s. The age can be judged from the depth of the saucer, as later saucers became shallower, with an indentation into which to place the cup. Also, it was the practice to have only one saucer for the tea bowl and the coffee can.
Transporter Bridge, Newport: small commemorative bowl

$45 USDTransporter Bridge, Newport: small commemorative bowl

Porcelain:Commemorative
A small commemorative bowl celebrating the transporter bridge which spans the River Usk in Newport, South Wales. The bridge celebrated its centenary in September 2006, so the bowl is likely to be in the region of 100 years old. The bridge's historic importance stems from its very unusual design. There are only two others like it in the UK and seven in the World. The bowl measures 3.5 inches (6cm) in diameter, is in fine translucent porcelain, and is marked to the base 37 in gold, in a style ...
Porcelain Boy with Drum

$45 USDPorcelain Boy with Drum

Porcelain:Decorative & Figurines:Children
A porcelain model of a young boy playing with his toy drum, about 8 inches in height, missing one drumstick, the other possibly not the original. Marked inside 86 - probably the decorator's mark. Perfect.
Bernard Moore Owl on Tree Stump: Persian Blue Glaze

$800 USDBernard Moore Owl on Tree Stump: Persian Blue Glaze

Porcelain:Decorative & Figurines:Bernard Moore
A gorgeous, rich blue Bernard Moore owl perched on a tree stump. This appears to be one of the models which was produced in bone china, and has a hole in the base. A pottery monkey, also in my possession, is much heavier and has no hole in the base, which is quite rough. The colour is called Persian Blue. In the early 20th century, Bernard Moore experimented with Chinese glazes, producing successful flambé and sang-de-boeuf glazes on a stoneware body at his small factory in Stoke-upon-Trent. He ...
SOLD Wedgwood Lustre Bowl - Minstrel & Dragons

SOLDSOLD Wedgwood Lustre Bowl - Minstrel & Dragons

Porcelain:Wedgwood:Lustre
A small but perfect Wedgwood Lustre bowl, from the workshop of Daisy Makeig-Jones, most famous for her Fairyland Lustre. Produced between 1915 and 1929, this rare and delightful bowl features a mottled cobalt blue exterior with gold and lustre dragons, and an interior decorated with an oriental minstrel riding a camel and playing something resembling a mandolin or lute. The camel has a really cute face and has turned his head round to gaze at the minstrel, one hopes in delight at the music. It ...
