A print on rather rough paper (small pieces of woodchip visible), showing Iona Abbey, originally founded by Saint Columba, and giving a description of its history. I have scanned this in black and white, but the actual page is somewhat yellowed with age. Overall size 10.4 inches x 7.5 inches approx. From the paper, the print and the style of the text I would judge this to be an Eighteenth Century print. Free Air Mail shipping anywhere.

A matted copper engraving of Crowland Bridge in Lincolnshire - 'Publish'd by J. Sewell, 32 Cornhill Sepr 1, 1795'. You can't get more accurate dating than that. The triangular Trinity Bridge now stands on dry land. It was built between 1360 and 1390. Originally it spanned the River Welland and a tributary that flowed through the town, though now the rivers have been re-routed and no longer flow anywhere near the bridge. A matted copper engraving of The King's House at Clypeston, Nottinghamshire. Apparently this was King John's house, which explains its state of ill repair even when the original drawing was made by Sparrow on July 23 1777. Also under the print it says 'Printed as the Act directs for S Hooper. Mat measures 9 x 7.7 inches (23 x 19.5 cm).
