Doll Costume – Vintage Two-Piece Purple Rayon Gown

This is how a little girl would want her doll to be clothed for a fancy dress ball. It’s a hand-made outfit, consisting of a full gathered skirt and over-dress with a pouffy flounce on each side. The sleeve edges and the gathered flounces are trimmed with lace. The openings at the back of both pieces are fastened with snaps.

The fabric is purple rayon with a shiny stripe, and I’m estimating this dates to the 1930s or 1940s. The over-dress measures 14-1/2 inches from the shoulder to the bottom of the skirt flounce, and the skirt measures 9 inches from waist to hem.

The outfit is in very good condition. It has been washed and ironed, and comes to you from our smoke-free, pet-free home.

This doll dress will be carefully folded, packaged with a backing board and plastic sleeve and shipped by first class mail in a bubble envelope, with postal insurance included.
