These two hard-to-find children’s undergarment panties (probably known as knickers or drawers) date to the end of the 19th century. Both have been washed and are in good clean condition.

The smaller of the two underpanties is hand-sewn of white cotton fabric, and would fit a baby. It has a sewn-on waistband and snap openings at the sides. The leg openings are elasticized and trimmed with lace. It is pleated in the front and made very full in the back, probably to accommodate a diaper. The waist measures 19 inches, and it is 9-1/2 inches from the top of the waistband to the bottom of the leg. There is no damage except for some faint stains.

The second undergarment would fit an older child. It’s also made of white cotton. The front and back are flat, just as you see them in my photo. There is a ribbon in a casing for adjustments at the waist, and bands of eyelet trim at the leg openings. The waist measures 22 inches, and it is 12-1/4 inches from the waist to the bottom of the leg. This garment is in very good condition.

These baby undies will be protectively packaged and shipped in a box by priority mail, including postal insurance within the US. Insurance may be declined if not desired.
