Elegant Oscar de la Renta Black Shift Dress, Velvet Trim

This gorgeous vintage black dress is a simple shift, but superbly shaped by two velvet strips which begin at the armhole seams near the bust and curve down past the waist, ending at the side seams near the hips. These velvet strips also become the top edging of a pocket at each side, and then continue down the side seams of the skirt to the hem. The velvet strips are accented by a fabric button at the side of the pockets.

There is no fabric label, but I believe it is a fine wool. The dress is fully lined in a shiny black fabric, probably rayon acetate. The back closes from the neckline to the hips with an invisible zipper, with a small tab at the top. The sleeves also have a small invisible zipper at the wrists.

The dress is size 8, and is in beautiful, clean condition. The blue coloration on the left side in most of the photos is a reflection from the window - the dress is a solid black. It comes to you from our smoke-free, pet-free home.
