This beautiful sentimental porcelain brooch dates from the Victorian era of the later 1800s. Forget-me-not flowers are hand-painted around the sky blue border, with shades of blush pink in the center. A gold border has been painted around the edge.

The porcelain plaque is mounted by six prongs onto a brass backing plate, which has a simple C clasp. The pin-stem extends beyond the edge of the brooch, as was common in the 1800s – this was inserted back into the dress fabric as a safety feature. The large oval brooch measures 2-5/8 by 2 inches, and is in very good condition.
