SALE Vintage Child’s Double-Breasted Vest, Never Worn

This child’s vest is beautifully constructed, with the same attention to tailoring as you would find in an adult garment.

The material is an off-white cotton Bedford cord, and it is fully lined with a crisp cotton fabric. There are two set-in pockets at the waist which are also fully lined, and a belt closure in the back. There are eight mother-of-pearl buttons and eight buttonholes, so that the vest can be buttoned either to the left or to the right.

The label in the back reads: “Lot 1318A, Age 8”. The vest measures 27 inches across the chest when buttoned, and approximately 15-1/2 inches from shoulder to hem.

Children’s clothes in this condition are a rare find – this vest has never been worn and is very well preserved. There are only a couple of tiny spots on the bottom front which are not visible when the vest is buttoned to the right.
