This book, titled “The Amateur Cracksman”, contains eight stories about the popular exploits of A. J. Raffles, an upper-class Englishman with a taste for adventure. The book was written by E. W. Hornung, and copyrighted in 1899 by Charles Scribner’s Sons. This is a 1905 edition (see photo of title page.) Please also see corresponding Item #2875a "Raffles".

The book has dark red fabric hardcover boards printed in white. There is a frontispiece illustration of Raffles, and two other illustration plates. There is shelf wear at the top and bottom of the faded spine, and slight wear at the corners. The sewn binding and front hinge is loosened but is still intact, and the book is cracked at the flyleaf.

The interior pages are in very good condition, although slightly age-browned. The book contains 290 numbered pages, and measures approximately 5/1/4 by 7-1/2 inches. There is no dust jacket.

This book will be boxed and shipped by media mail. Postal insurance may be declined if not desired.
