This is the November 1957 Playbill for “Long Day’s Journey Into Night”, written by Eugene O’Neill, and directed by Jose Quintero. The play opened on November 7, and this Playbill is for the week of November 18.

The play was performed at the Helen Hayes Theatre in New York, and starred Fredric March and Florence Eldridge in the leads, with Jason Robards Jr. and Katherine Ross. It won 1957 Tony Awards for Best Play and Best Actor, and the 1957 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Robards also won the 1957 Theatre World Award.

There is a short article on dinner hats, with illustrations (those were the days!), and numerous ads for perfume, cast albums, cigarettes, liquor, automobiles and more. Elizabeth Taylor and Mike Todd endorse TWA Airlines, and a young and thin Frank Sinatra is featured in an ad for Chesterfield cigarettes on the back cover.

The Playbill has 56 numbered pages, measures 6-1/2 by 9 inches, and is in very good condition.

This item will be packaged with a backing board and plastic sleeve in a large bubble envelope, and shipped by first class mail, including postal insurance within the US. International postal insurance may be declined if not desired.

Item ID: 1772-15a
