This book, entitled “Turn to the East”, was written by Carolina Singer and illustrated by her husband, C. Le Roy (Roy) Baldridge, with a foreword by Nathaniel Peffer. It defines their love for Japan, Korea and China in beautiful words and gorgeous pictures.

There are eight full-page color plates, and numerous other illustrations in red pencil or watercolor surrounding the text. Nearly every page is worthy of framing, but one would hate to destroy this lovely book for the prints.

The book measures a little less than 11 by 14 inches, and contains 72 numbered pages. It was published by Minton, Balch & Co. in New York in 1926. It is a first edition, as there is no statement of later printing on the copyright page.

There is a pasted-down pictorial cover over the grey fabric boards, which is worn at all the edges, soiled and rubbed, with some paper loss in the upper right corner. The fabric fold is worn and frayed at the top and bottom. All the interior pages, including the illustrated endpapers, are in very good condition, and the stitched binding is tight.

This book will be protectively boxed and shipped by priority mail, including postal insurance within the US. International postal insurance (registered mail) may be declined if not desired.
