Victorian Sash Buckle, Accented With Blue Crystals

This is a beautiful Victorian buckle with four bezel-set pale blue crystals resembling aquamarines.

A gilt wash covers the base metal. The buckle has been stamped overall with a diamond pattern and there is an embossed round dome in each corner. The two prongs are stationary and decorative only, and are attached to the buckle at both ends. There is a separate piece to which the fabric would be sewn which attaches to a foldover clasp in the middle of the buckle.

The buckle measures 3-1/4 inches by 2 inches. There are no manufacturers marks. There is some slight wear to the gilt finish, otherwise it is in very good condition.
