SALE PENDING Elegant Victorian Striped Black Skirt and Taffeta Ruffled Slip

This lovely skirt is almost a full circle, as you can see in one of the photos where I have spread it out on my carpeting. It is constructed of seven panels of black silk, alternating solid with sheer stripes.

The skirt measures 23 inches at the waist, and is 42 inches from waist to hem. There is an opening at the waist with hook-and-eye closures. The silk material is very delicate, and there are several splits in the fabric, some of which can be seen in the photo of the skirt.

The shading differences which you see in the photos are due to different degrees of sunlight – the skirt is actually a single shade of black.

With the skirt is a black taffeta slip with a ruffle at the hem. This was probably not originally a match with the skirt, but I purchased them in the same lot. The slip’s wide waist is gathered with a string and was crudely re-stitched at some point. There is a row of stitching near the bottom where the slip was shortened at one time – this stitching has come apart in several places. The waist measures 41 inches at the waist, and is 37 inches long.

These garments will be protectively packaged with tissue and bubble wrap, and shipped in a box by priority mail, including postal insurance within the US. International postal Insurance may be declined if not desired.
