My shop is a mix of vintage costume jewelry, buttons, clothing, books, postcards, sheet music, ephemera, photos, and more.
There is a very beautiful celluloid pin at the top of the ribbon with the IOOF symbols printed in blue and yellow, and set in a curved gilt metal frame. There is also a purple ribbon on the back side, also printed in silver but without the “In Memoriam” and the graphic of the tent.
The pin can be slipped out and turned around so that the purple ribbon can be shown when worn. Gold metallic trim edges the bottom.
On the back of the black ribbon is the manufacturers label – Whitehead & Hoag in Newark NJ. There are several patent dates in the 1890s. This piece is in excellent condition.
