This is a full-length petticoat made for a little girl’s doll. The wide crocheted border and hem at the bottom suggest that it was cut down from an adult undergarment. It’s difficult to put a date on when this dress was made, but I believe it dates to the early 1900s. The petticoat measures 16-1/2 inches from waist to hem, and the waistband is 11 inches. This very cute baby doll is heavy cardboard with a plastic stand. She has a complete set of uncut clothes on a single large folded page. For some reason, there is another complete set of the same clothes which have been cut. One of my photos shows both sets of clothes together so you can see that they are exactly the same. This was a simple dress, or perhaps a nightgown, for a little girl’s doll. It’s difficult to put a date on when this dress was made, but I believe it is earlier than 1925. It is simply made from a single piece of fabric, possibly a feed bag as there is a row of darker lines running down the back.
