Remember the days when you could get a full meal on a commercial airlines flight? This postcard was a United Air Lines souvenir with a copy of their in-flight menu. It features an avocado and tuna appetizer, swiss steak with mushroom sauce, carrots, salad, a roll and dessert. The photo is of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC, with cherry trees in blossom. This postcard shows a Socony Service Station (Standard Oil Company of New York), dated October 5, 1931 in the bottom right corner. The card is identified on the back as a “photo post card”, but is probably a reproduction as the postmark is 1958. Still a very nice illustration of vintage autos and a gas station, in very good condition. This postcard will be packaged in a rigid plastic sleeve and bubble envelope, and shipped by first class mail. Postal insurance may be declined if not desired.

This cardboard fan has a menu for a garden party event on board the M. S. Chichibu Maru passenger steamship. The Chichibu Maru was a ship of the Japanese M.Y.K. Line. The menu is dated Saturday, August 17, 1935, and features several Japanese dishes, plus salmon, a cold buffet, and ice cream dessert. These two items are memorabilia of the Old Colony Street Railway System, which was a trolley system operating in the Boston Massachusetts area at the turn of the last century.
