Ciro Owl Pin-White Enamel with Blue Floral Designs

Hoo Hoo-who would have figured when I turned this over recognizing the famous Owl from Trifari's favorite animal collection produced in the 1960's that I would see the name Ciro in cursive in the cartouche!

Well, this definitely shows that companies produced for many name brands. I have checked this out thoroughly to see if there is any difference and conclude they are identical. I think this is quite the collectors find.

As much as an adorable character can be, this is made with impeccable detailing including the gold plated trim, raised navy blue enamel floral patterns and the high doomed green cabachon eyes.

Trifari made six animals in this collection as seen in their Trifari advertisement which I have photographed with this pin for you to compare. I wonder if Ciro also carried them. For collectors out there, look for the lion, horse, butterfly, cat and poodle. Ciro-Ciro of Bond Street is a very well respected company known for producing high quality fashion jewelry. 1939 was the year they opened the first store in the US.

This superbly designed pin has many dimensions making the owl come to life. It measures 2" on the longest diagonal from ear to tail and 1 1/2" wide.

What a hoot!
