Today in Giverny, France, artists are welcome to visit and paint in Monet's gardens. They too are trying to find the light that he was so inspired by when he created his gardens to provide him a year round place to paint. No visit to his home was ever complete without an escorted tour of his two beloved gardens-the colorful flower garden and the tranquil water garden.

I met this delightful and hard working professional artist in Bangkok, Thailand. She had just finished a big show with the famous Jim Thompson House of Silk company. Her husband was at the time head of an art department at one of the major universities there as well. That is where we met her and had a private showing of available works. I was very impressed with her style and eye for light.

In this delightful painting, she has added depth with impasto paint in the bright pink blossoms that jump off the canvas for added drama. This has been professionally framed and measures in total 23.5" wide and 19.5" high. The original canvas is 16 X 20".

To my knowledge she is continuing her artistic endeavors. She told me a little about the wonderful trip she had to Monet's Gardens where she was captivated with the beauty every where she looked making it hard to pick a place to paint. I chose this diminutive painting not only because it depicted a woodland spot with an ancient tree that Monet probably touched but because I knew I could carry it home with me where I could have it framed. It is in excellent condition.
