I know that this artist lived and painted in the Sheboygan, Wisconsin area. That charming city sits right on the coast of beautiful Lake Michigan. There are many bluffs high above the edge of the lake and I can envision the artist was happy to capture a lush summer day with a vista of the lake poking through. A gazebo is in the shade just below his vantage point.

I came across this artist and painting in a wonderful vintage/ antique shop a few miles inland of the city. The owner who said she had acquired them at the estate sale, had about 10 of his paintings and I purchased two-this one and the charming cantelope on a dish oil painting that I also have listed in the gallery.

I am a student of landscape painting in oils and can really appreciate his loose brush strokes and shading emulating the School of Impressionism. I think this needs to be displayed in a larger frame allowing it to really make a wonderful statement in any room.

This is painted on a 14 X 18 Fredrix canvas panel which also leads me to believe he did this en plein air. It is in excellent condition.
