Selini is part of the Selro company (1950-60's) according to J. Rehmann in her new book Classic American Costume Jewelery. Selro is best known for figurals of Asian and devil faces. Their Selini line of jewelry features excellent quality classic rhinestone designs. This is signed on a raised portion on the back with the copyright symbol. One book said the Selini name was scarce and I tend to agree.
Measuring 2 1/4" round, this large brooch offers a very different look. The contrast between the dark multi-dimensional background and the many brilliant blue and green foil backed cut rhinestones, creates a stunning effect. I believe this to be circa early 1960's.
