Swarovski, the world's leading supplier of unrivaled quality crystal stones to the jewelry industry since 1892, launched its first line of fashion jewelry in 1985, featuring its clear crystal rhinestones. This company invented a mechanical stone cutter that could shape and facet large quantities of equally perfect stones.

I remember being intrigued and amazed while shopping in malls during this time-span and finding the jewelry shops where Swarovski had displays to see what was new. They were originally only available through a collector's club that you would sign up for at the jewelry store. These limited editions are remarkable for quality craftsmanship and enjoyment. According to my research this design has been retired making this a fantastic opportunity to start or continue your own collection. I am listing another also in mint condition that came from the same estate sale.

I have seen references to this brooch in books as seen in one of my photos. The book, Rhinestone Jewelry by Leigh Leshner has a great photo of this brooch on page102.

When holding this miniature sculpture in your hands, the multi-dimensions and flowing lines make it come to life. On the reverse side the heavy gold plate contrasts the rich deep brown enameling. The swan logo is on the upper part of the tail.

This is in mint condition with its tag. This measures approx 21/4" in width and 2" top to bottom and will make an incredible fashion statement drawing many to ask you all about it. Who can resist Pegasus!
