This large 1950s bowl, inspired by the sea, features a shell shape and a gritty exterior texture, reminiscent of a sandy beach. The inside of the bowl is a glowing turquoise or aqua, perhaps the definitive colour of the 1950s.

Made in Japan and imported by Giftcraft, this sturdy bowl is over a foot long, at 12 1/4 inches; 5 inches wide, and 2 1/2 inches deep. It has no chips or cracks, just some very minor surface wear to the interior. A beautiful and unusual piece.
