Often confused with the works of R. Atkinson Fox, Thompson's paintings were characterized by their realistic detail and especially by his use of colour. Thompson actually made his own pastels, declining to use commercially made colours. The beautiful results can be seen in this print.
The picture, including the original frame, is 7 1/2 by 6 inches, and is in excellent condition with no fading, no tears and no stains. The frame is made of gilded wood with carved designs and is in great shape, with the original cardboard backing but no dust cover.
This lovely picture exudes a sense of tranquility and peace. If you love these old prints, why not claim this one for yourself?
