Old Westmoreland Milk Glass Plate with Kittens

This very sweet milk glass plate was made by the Westmoreland Specialty Glass Company circa 1900. It shows the quality for which Westmoreland is justly famous, and the fiery glow around the edges, when the plate is held to the light, indicates the age of the piece.

Three cute kittens in deep relief decorate the top of the 7 inch diameter plate. The details of the cat's faces and fur is remarkable. The reticulated edge allows for a ribbon to be woven through, should you wish to hang the plate on the wall.

No cracks, chips, flakes or flaws mar this plate. Mold lines, so typical of these old milk glass pieces, can be seen. It is adorable, a great addition to a milk glass collection.
