This yummy peach, looking good enough to eat, is no exception. Cute in the kitchen, useful in the bathroom or boudoir, it is unsigned, likely made in Japan in the mid 20th century. The peach, the leaf, and the branch are quite natural looking, with hand painted details. In fact, a partial fingerprint of the artist can be seen on one side of the peach!
In good vintage condition, this 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch wall pocket has a few neatly retouched and nearly invisible chips, on the edges of the leaf, and on the stem along the back. There is a hairline glaze crack, confined to the outside surface of the fruit itself. These flaws are not apparent when the pocket is observed hanging on a wall.
Just peachy!
