Victorian Brass Ink Well / Ink Stand ~ Dragon Heads

This Victorian brass ink well, (or perhaps more correctly, ink stand, as the actual well is missing), is ornately decorated with dragon heads.

The ink stand is 4 1/2 inches tall to the top of the finial on the lid, while footed base is 4 1/2 inches square. It has good patina and is in very nice condition, with no dents to the metal. The hinge at the back works fine. Inside, there is a small crack in the bottom of the part which held the ink well, but it does not go all the way through.

While there are no markings to indicate the maker of this piece, it is likely English and would make a lovely addition to your desk.
