It's not often one comes across a beautiful set like this, and in such wonderful condition. The four individual salt dips are each 1 1/2 inches across and 3/4 of an inch tall. All are stamped and/or incised "Germany" on the underside. Painted with a gleaming gold wash, the exterior surfaces are textured, as is the 1 3/4 inch tall pepper shaker. In excellent condition, the set has no chips or cracks. There is some light wear to the gilded finish, mostly on the ruffled edges of the salt cellars.

This is rare figural creamer, formed in the likeness of an ox, rather than the more common cows. The creamer was made in Czechoslovakia in the early 1900s. Finished in soft shades of brown, tan, cream and green, the ox has nicely defined features, soulful dark eyes, and an open mouth through which the cream pours. A beautiful flow blue bowl in the Pagoda pattern by Meakin. This antique serving bowl is 8 1/4 inches in diameter and 3 inches deep. Heavily decorated in deep cobalt blue, with wonderful "flow" all around, it is in lovely condition for its age. Light utensil marks, mostly in the bottom of the bowl, do not dull the shining glaze. Crazing, firing flaws and a chip on the outside rim (see picture) add character to this late 1890s - early 1900s piece.

This wonderful, large plate or charger clearly shows the influence of the English Arts & Crafts movement, with its rich palette of natural colours and its unpretentious pattern of humble rose hips. Made by Warwick China of Wheeling, West Virginia, this semi-porcelain charger is a generous 12 inches in diameter.
