19th century French Napoleon III Drop Front Document Box is Exquisitely finished. Interior and Exterior in Beautiful Deep French Palissandre Rosewood, with double bright brass inlay borders and stunning cabochon disks or rondelles which resemble black pearls.

The creme de la creme of this spectacular piece are the center brass medallion and the corner medallions as well as the brass key escutcheon. All are deeply scrolled with leaves, foliate designs and great texture. The figural center cartouche is regal to say the least! It also boasts acorns, suspended from its leaves.

The Lid and Front Panel are hinged and both open as shown. Hinges work beautifully.

Measures 11 1/8" W x 4 1/8"D x 4 1/4"H.

This elegant box is not without its issues. Sadly its lock has been removed. Other than that there are some scratches from age and use, and one small piece of rosewood veneer missing on the bottom as shown. See pictures for best description and feel free to ask any further questions.
