Bookmark this site! Over 40 years of collectables need to find new homes! We consider offers!
During the depression a chain of stores in Ohio and Pennsylvania named Isaly's opened, selling ice cream and delicatessen items. If you are from this area, you know Isaly's! A couple still exist that have been preserved by their owners in Pennsylvania. The stores phased out during the 1970's and were bankrupt by the 1980's
These glasses are from the estate of a woman who worked at the Isaly's in our town for many years. She brought them home with her when the store closed.
The only authentication I can find is a picture on the front of a book: "Klondikes, Chipped Ham & Skyscraper Cones, The Story of Isaly's" by Brian Butko. If you look closely in the store window, you can see the sundaes. According to the author, Isaly's used this style glasses and others but none were marked.
The other two pictured here are most likely also Isaly glasses, but no photo documentation can be found. They are 4 7/8" H, and 6 3/4" H.
The set of 4, five inch high glasses are on the book cover picture and at in a Isaly's web site picture (see our Favorite Links page) .
They are all in very nice condition with no chips or cracks. Thanks for looking and God bless!
