Pre Medical Club of South Carolina ~ Turn of the Century Double Pin with Seed Pearls & Pink Sapphires

This turn-of-the-century double pin is from the "Pre Medical Club of South Carolina." It is gold over brass with enameling, seed pearls and tiny foiled pink sapphires that measure approximately 1.5mm. Both pins measure 1/2 x 3/8 in., and are in very good antique condition. The locking mechanism for the pin stem on the skull and cross bones is missing. As well, one seed pearl is chipped and the enamel on the skull shows some wear, neither of which can be discerned without magnification.
