All hand made in Malta with silk.
The lace is silk and so is the center.
It is an ecru color, what is called "blonde Maltese".
The piece is incredibly intricate, with the most charming overall shape, and it goes back to the mid-century, 1950s very likely.
Wedding hankies have become very hot collectibles as the art form is now lost. The last amazing examples seem to have appeared and disappeared some time in the mid 1970s.
Malta lace is world famous, when one sees this hankie, no wonder!
MEASUREMENTS: Length: 10". Width: 10".
CONDITION: Very good, with of course minor wear, mostly showing as "fuzzy" in the motifs. Center silk is not perfectly even in color, but this is not noticeable. No stains.
