An exquisite antique French print circa 1860, showing a Parisian wedding in the Middle Ages, all hand watercolored with the most charming colors.

The young couple receives blessings from a superbly dressed priest, very likely the archbishop of Paris, as the wedding is happening in that city.

The archbishop wears an amazing robe, with curved angel wings!

On the far sides are probably the bride's father, playing a kind of clarinet, and the groom's mother holding a bird on her fist.

All costumes are gorgeous, and quite elaborate, with velvets, embroideries and and complicated headpieces.

The piece is signed "Chevrolat" in the lower right corner.

A rare scene, with a lot of charm, also quite decorative.

Deserves a simple or very ornate frame.

MEASUREMENTS: Length: 11 3/4" Width: 8 1/8". Colored subject: 7 1/4" by 5".

CONDITION: Very good. Some normal browning of the corners. One small tear in the white margin
