A sophisticated micromosaic necklace from the 1950s with the most minute glass mosaic work set in ornate brass filets.

Because micromosaic was very expensive jewelry at the time, most pieces that have been brought back by tourists are pins, with the occasional bracelet.

So necklaces are fairly rare.

Also, the mosaic work becomes much bigger later, to be nearly crude today, as the best craftspeople have disappeared.

You will love the Etruscan brass settings with tiny bubbles on the side. They have the same size as the pieces of colored glass, and bring a very refined touch to the whole piece.

Inside the micromosaic work are super thin brass filets, that form circles and arabesques. In this piece, they even have a rope design, which shows that nothing was spared to make this necklace incredibly precious!

Micromosaic does not age. It remains as beautiful as ever, even centuries later. The necklace has no loss, and will probably never experience any, as it is incredibly sturdy work.

Marked "Made in Italy" at the back.

A fantastic example of the genre that will get you noticed and that can be worn in any season.

MEASUREMENTS: Total Length: 15 1/2". Length of the pendants area: 2 3/4" Width of pendants area: 2 3/4".

CONDITION: Excellent. No damage. The necklace has been cleaned, but you can revive the brass even more if you wish. This will not hurt the mosaic.
