Antique 19th C NAPOLEON III Religious Choir Boy/Church Assistant Top/Surplice Size M/Medium to L/Large MAGNIFICENT LACE!

A rare 19th C French Catholic item, worn by an older choir boy or a church assistant circa 1870-1880, and which can still be worn today.

The piece has been carefully cleaned and is fresh and very white, with no repairs necessary.

The spectacular lace bottom and cuffs are of course all hand made! The rest of the body is a thick, sturdy tulle, which is why it has survived so well to this day.

The piece is fairly large, and it will fit a Medium. Only the width of the sleeve could be tight for some. I tried it, it really is awesome on you!

The surplice is not perfect of course, as it has been worn, (and these choir boys can be so undisciplined!) so it has a number of small mendings here and there, done in the old days, (see pics) but it is still in very good condition, with no yellowing or stains, only a few tiny rust specks, not really noticeable.

One can reasonably say it is about the best it can be for its age and material.
