Art is for the Home and for the Soul. Prints, Drawings, Paintings TO DIE FOR! Layaways. We ship worldwide everyday.
The bonnet used to cover the center of the head, and was attached to the hair with small, invisible clips.
The lace has been worked all in one piece, probably on early mechanical "fuseaux", and it has an interesting rustic gauze inside which maintains its form fairly well.
The floral lace motif embroidered on an Irish net is just exquisite! With several flowers on top worked in 3D.
The bonnet is in top condition.
It has been washed carefully and is fresh and clean, very white, with no stains or yellowing left.
It certainly can be worn again, or can be displayed on the wall or on a decorative hatstand.
A super charming, super feminine artifact from the late Victorian era.
