A very refined embroidered top from Romania or Hungary, with a spectacular motif, and the blue on white contrast we all love!

The top has the famous smocks on the shoulders and at the cuffs, and an elegant shirt style collar. It is made of a sheer cotton blend or polyester veil, easy to press.

I would date it to the early 80s as the embroidery at the back shows it was machine, though it is very difficult to tell when looking at the top since the top is embroidered with the same traditional rustic cotton, thick and shiny.

The motif is particularly beautiful and ornate. It also exists in a smaller version, on the sleeves.

The sleeves are slightly puffed at the shoulders, and are long enough to create some "bouffant" effect above the cuffs. Just what you would expect from a traditional Gypsy shirt!

No brand label, as always for these vintage Eastern European garments.

MEASUREMENTS: Length: 22". Armpit to armpit: 42". Between Shoulders seams: 14 1/2". Bottom: 42". Arm opening: 18". Sleeve Length: 25 1/2".

CONDITION: No damage. Very white. In excellent condition for its age. Clean (but not drycleaned)
