A rare and particularly ornate silver hair pin from the early 19th Century, circa 1820-1840 with a very light gilt and incredibly intricate motifs.

The head of the pin has a character that looks very much like a Chinese Pierrot, singing under the moon.

While the stem has a minute tropical landscape scene with a palm tree, exotic plants and even flamingos!

Both ends also have the cutest bat.

At the back are Chinese hallmarks
