From a Hollywood estate, a large and breathtaking tribal embroidery from Pakistan or Afghanistan, possibly from the Thar desert, which is so rich and intricate, it must have taken months, if not a year to complete!

This treasure was brought back to the US during the Hippie Era.

The embroidery, which is about 50 years old, is a totally free and imaginative "assemblage" of patches of all sizes, motifs, reliefs, colors, embroidery styles and also little mirrors.

It was obviously created with no particular plan in mind, and was just freely and artistically happening as it was hand stitched.

The material is cotton, but nothing luxurious, just the day to day fabric, mostly recycled from used clothing and therefore faded and looking fairly "fatigued".

But it has been turned into something extraordinary by magic fingers.

The work is extremely tactile, with little mounds and valleys, and subtle color harmonies.

The whole is a work of Art, but each part is a work of Art too! A little bit like fractals today.

There is no way you will ever be bored with this amazing piece. It challenges your mind like an ancient oral culture, of tales told from generation to generation.

This is a MASTERPIECE. Keep it VERY preciously!
