Found in Paris, an exquisite French watercolor from the Edwardian/Art Deco era with a VERY good price for an original!

It shows a young pensive woman sitting on the beach with a lobster basket and apron.

The scene takes place in Brittany, illustrated by the rocky coast, sand bushes weathered by the wind, the gray ocean and overcast sky, the traditional slate roof house and the woman's dark hair and Celtic pendant.

The scene is probably slightly naughty for the time as her dress is quite low cut, and her sitting posture reveals her bloomers!

A "scene de genre" with country French charm and simplicity, which will bring refinement to any decor.

MEASUREMENTS: Total length: 14". Total width: 10".

CONDITION: The white paper around the scene has darkened with age on the outer margins where the piece was framed, but not the painting itself which has retained its very fresh colors. In very good condition.
