Antique 19th Century Chinese QING Court DRAGON Sleeveband/Sleeve Band VERY REFINED!

Found in Paris, an authentic Chinese Qing formal Court panel, worn as a sleeve band, circa 1880. The silk is a bright blue, with a superb Imperial dragon and phoenix motif in traditional clouds surroundings, It is embroidered in couched gold thread.

The piece was obviously kept away from daylight, and the blue is still fresh, with little fading.

The gold thread which contains real gold, still has its rich, warm color.

MEASUREMENTS: Length: 22". Width: 3 1/2"

CONDITION: edges are normally irregular since it was originally sewn on a garment. 2 small indents and a bigger one towards the top, on the left hand side. There are also a number of small holes in the silk, which are not really visible when the piece lies flat, but will show if you hold it to the light. Some couched gold loose threads.

In very good condition for its fabric and age.
