Antique Chinese Late Qing Large 17" EMBROIDERY/Embroidered Belt Purse/Bag Flowers & Bird Very RARE!

A rare late Qing Dynasty/early Republic hand embroidered Chinese purse with a very elegant shape.

The purse, which was worn at the waist, is made of a black cotton with a satin sheen at the front, and of a rustic navy cotton at the back.

The embroidery is done in delicate satin stitch in a harmony of pinks and light greens. Useless to say it is perfect, with super smooth surfaces.

Most of the motifs are Spring blossoms, and there is a cute bird flying in the lower part. Also what looks like a large pomegranate in the center.

shape and artistic composition are extremely harmonious. The curves are beautiful, and every motif seems to fall into place with lightness and grace.

MEASUREMENTS: Length: 17". Height: 7".

CONDITION: The center of the piece has faded, though evenly. Colors still very fresh on each side. Navy cotton at the back has a hole. No hole or wear at the front. In very good condition for its age.
