From a private British collection, these extraordinary panels from the late Qing Dynasty, done over 100 years ago with the famous "Forbidden Stitch".

The Qing Emperors would reward individuals of exceptional merit by granting them permission to wear a yellow detail, yellow being the exclusive color of the Emperor.

Done on a luxurious thick silk crepe (Crepe de Chine), they were worn as sleeve bands and have couched gold details and lovely palm effects.

Motif of pagodas and temples in charming lake environments with rocks and trees,

MEASUREMENTS: Each: length: 29 1/2". Width: 4".

CONDITION: micro holes, only revealed when you hold the piece to the light. Cut to one sleeve end. Part not lost and attached to the main part. Some fading, but colors: light gray,several shades of green, of blue,of pink, still vivid. Couched gold (with gold content) quite shiny. In excellent condition for its age.
