Naive and fresh Folk Art representation of Jesus, surrounded by Masonic symbols (the rope with 12 knots, the Egyptian lotus bud), the tools of the Cross (the hammer and the tweezers), and a sword, sign the owner was a Mason more than a Companion.
Resembling a mini Chapel, the piece was displayed on a private altar, or worn against the heart,
Light beige background, red, green, mustard, ivory, dark/light brown, baby blue. Olive at the back. Silk thread with many stitch patterns. Fabric inserts.
Simple and moving, the piece has encapsulated something rare: the true spirit of its time, 2 Centuries 1/2 old and so close to us!
MEASUREMENTS: Length: 5 1/4". Width: 3 1/2".
CONDITION: In excellent condition for its age.
