A rare find! This is a Natural Pearl Sizer or sorter and the lid is marked "E. E. Kipling's Pearl Sizes". I am sure not many of these were made making it a rare Jewelry or Jeweler related item. The Pearl Sizer is made of bronze or brass and has a cylinder made of 3 sections, 2 of the sections can be fitted with the sizing screens. There are 49 screens all of varying sizes, they are marked with numbers. The container measures 4 5/8" high x 4 7/8" in diameter, it is very heavy weighing in at just under 6 pounds. The Pearl Sizer is in very good overall condition with no chips or cracks in the bronze. It would make an interesting addition to an antique or fine jewelry collection or display.
