A very beautiful antique (circa late 1800's) Victorian ladies skirt. The skirt is all hand made in a fine lace and does have a pattern or design of flowers. The skirt would have been worn as mourning but the lady who owned this knew how to have style! The skirt is not lined, it most likely went over a silk "slip". The skirt measures 26" at the waist, 46" long waist to front hem and 54" from the waist to the trailing back hem. The skirt is in very good overall condition. There are a just a few tiny loose strands including one on the bottom edge. The skirt has one spot that is "gathered" up within the lace, as far as I can see there is no damage, perhaps it might have been where a skirt lifter was attached? The lace skirt is an excellent example of the finest in Victorian fashion. It would make a wonderful addition to an antique clothing or lace collection.
