A very pretty antique Victorian era Cameo. The Cameo is made of Lava and is most likely a souvenir of the Grand Tour, specifically Italy. These lava Cameos were hand carved around Pompeii. This lovely example measures 1 1/4" x 1" excluding the side loops. It has a setting and was a part of a larger item. The cameo would be lovely with a simple double chain. It is in very good overall condition. The setting looks like an 800 silver or an alloy. The Cameo would make a fine addition to a Victorian jewelry collection.
