A charming set of old Cherub Angel Bookends. The cherub angels are playing a flute like instrument as they sit on a marble plinth. The angels are cast spelter and retain the original bronze toned finish, the back and bases are composition marble. Each bookend measures 5 3/4" x 4" across the base x 6" high, they are very heavy weighing over 9 1/4 pounds, they would be perfect for hard cover books. The Angel bookends are in good overall condition. There are a few small chips on the edges of the marble, see photos. The Angels are bolted through the marble plinth and have plaster in between their bottoms and the marble, one has losses to the plaster, see photo. The set would be lovely in a Victorian, Romantic or Religious inspired decor.
