A very beautiful antique Victorian Jewelry or Sewing Box. The box features a lovely inlay that includes Ivory and Mother of Pearl. The box is made from a burled or birdseye wood, it has a nice patina. The interior is all original and features Rosewood covers, velvet inserts and ivory knobs. The box could be Anglo Indian in origin. Overall dimensions are 13" x 8 3/4" x 4 3/4" high. It is in very good overall condition. The only thing to note is some small chips on the back corners, see photo's. There is light wear to the finish from normal use but you can tell the box was well cared for. The Jewelry or Sewing Box would be lovely in a period Victorian decor and is still just as practical today as it was 100+ years ago. It is a lovely antique item.
